Play is the natural medium of a child’s self expression and connection to the world of others.
For a child to become independent, she/he has to be dependent first. To turn to other people and reach for them, to know they are there and how to connect with them is how we build a sense of self and learn how big the world is.
I have worked with children as young as three up to pre-adolescent. There certainly are many psychological issues to work with. (I am experienced with such “disorders” as Conduct, AD/HD, Developmental, Sleep, Bed-wetting, Separation Anxiety, Disruptive/Oppositional, etc.) But my main focus in working with children is giving them a place to express themselves—through play and creative expression.
